10K Pre-Incubator

DO YOU WANT TO EVOLVE YOUR IDEA INTO A STARTUP?

Reality check: Running a business is far from easy. Entrepreneurship is very, very hard work and with just a good idea you won't get there. We don't say this because we don't believe in you - as a student at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam - but because there is still a lot of work to be done before your product / service can be sold.

Do you have all the information that potential partners, investors and employees want to know from you? Do you know exactly how much money you need to ensure that your product is ready for the customer? Have you arranged all legal matters down to the last detail?

The 10K pre-incubator program is the opportunity that the Hogeschool van Amsterdam offers you to get started with your own startup! Doing business with a creative solution or coming up with sustainable innovation during your studies is great fun, but also a challenge. You take the step from student to entrepreneur, your competitors no longer consist of your classmates and there is no longer a teacher who tells you what is right.

10K prepares you to answer all questions from partners, investors and customers and to further develop you and your team with one goal in mind: STARTUP READY!

The 10K Program is free and consists of six compulsory components:

24 STEPS - DISCIPLINED ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Every week you take one or more steps that ultimately result in a complete business model for your startup.

6 DELIVERABLES

Your business model is only part of the content, but the packaging also matters! That is why you incorporate the 24 steps into, among other things, two different pitches, a white paper, a pitch deck and you learn which you use at what time.

COACHING

The coaches of the 10K program are available for you throughout the program with explanations, but especially to keep challenging you and to make you think about your choices.

MASTER CLASSES

In the first half year you will receive 7 master classes from renowned experts in their field. For example: Legal Fundamentals, Branding, Startup-Life balance and Online Marketing.

FEEDBACK NIGHT

Halfway through the first half of the year there is an evening where you pitch your idea to various experts. The mirror that is then held up to you is always experienced as very valuable.

DRAGONS ’DEN

The closing of the program takes place through a Dragons ’Den, where you pitch your startup to five experienced entrepreneurs and financiers in an empty room.

BONUS

In addition to the mandatory components, the 10K program also includes methods for building a team and making financial plans.

Evidence based

As an entrepreneur you only want to purchase products and services of which you can guarantee the quality. This also applies to 10K, which is why we use methods such as 24 Steps of Disciplined Entrepreneurship and the Entrecomp. These methods have proven themselves and during 10K we monitor their application in order to continuously implement improvements.

Can be combined with your studies

The 10K program is designed in such a way that you can combine it with your study or internship in terms of time spent. Of course you are responsible for your own agenda, but we try to facilitate you as good as possible. For example, you get a free workplace in the Amsterdam Venture Studios, there is a special entrepreneurial arrangement, you can make the 10K program part of your graduation or doing an internship in your own company. These are all examples of the options that we can offer you.

Connection to the next step

After completing 10K you have a backpack full of knowledge and products such as different pitches and a business plan that you can use to take the next step. The 10K program has numerous possible follow-up steps for financing such as: accelerator programs or the startup in residence program of the municipality of Amsterdam. In addition, you can use the 10K network to find students at the HvA who can help you develop your product or become a co-founder of your company.
