The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) was established by the Dutch and Flemish governments as an independent accreditation organisation tasked with providing an expert and objective assessment of the quality of higher education in the Netherlands and Flanders.
Our university has also been granted the institutional accreditation.
The ‘Institutional Quality Assurance Assessment’ focuses on university-wide internal quality assurance for study programmes. In 2011 the law allowed universities to apply for a special feature for the quality of the institution in its full width.
We received this special feature in 2014. The six-year university-wide accreditation means not only that we have first-rate education, but also that it is supported by an overarching system that ensures the continuous high quality of the curricula.
With this accreditation, the universities existing study programmes will be subject to less extensive assessment in the upcoming six years.
The PRME initiative is the first organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related academic institutions, business schools, and universities. Launched at the 2007 UN Global Compact Leaders Summit in Geneva, the Principles provide an engagement framework for academic institutions to advance corporate sustainability and social responsibility through the incorporation of universal values into curricula and research.
To date, over 600 leading business schools and management-related academic institutions from more than 80 countries across the world are signatories of PRME. Even more, over one third of the Financial Times' top 100 business schools participate in PRME.
By adopting the Six Principles (www.unprme.org/the-6-principles/index.php), AMSIB pledges to engage in a continuous process of improvement with regards to the application of the Principles, to regularly share information on progress, and to contribute to the learning experiences of the participants of the global PRME community.
The Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) is a selected group of business schools across the globe who believe that the internationalisation of business and the globalisation of the economy are essential elements in the evolution of managerial practices.
NIBS members believe that higher education must integrate a strong international dimension, including the practice of foreign languages, the study of comparative management techniques and the experience of working and studying abroad.
They also believe that cooperation between educational institutions in different countries contributes to a better understanding between nations by furthering awareness and knowledge of other cultures and social practices.
Members of NIBS recognise each others' qualifications, have a common goal of collaboration, and encourage participation in the following:
The Amsterdam School of International Business has been a member of NIBS since 2007.
The Amsterdam School of International Business (AMSIB) is an active member of the SAP University Alliance. This membership enables us to stay in close contact with other universities, the corporate world and business consulting firms. As a result SAP related internships, thesis's, SAP certification and career opportunities for students are offered.
Getting acquainted with the products of one of the most important business software companies in the world, SAP, is considered by AMSIB as an essential prerequisite for a successful international career.
