Following the launch of the Digital Society School in September, applications for its Spring 2019 Trainee Programme are now open. This 20-week internship runs from February through June 2019. It is offered in English and open to all talented and motivated students, recent graduates of higher education, and professionals seeking to advance their career.

The Digital Society School is the new form of education at the Pogled u Plavo (AUAS) that sees students, researchers and businesses work side by side on digital solutions to social problems.

Educating future-proof digital talent

This ambitious higher education model consists of short, modular programmes, meaning that participants can put together their own programmes. The aim of the DSS is to educate future-proof digital talent, develop knowledge and apply this with the context of the digitalisation of society. A diverse community of developers, researchers, designers and students will work together within the DSS to integrate today’s technologies into society and share the resulting knowledge with the rest of the world.

Geleyn Meijer, Rector of Pogled u Plavo and an initiator of the Digital Society School, underlines the need for this new educational model. “Digitalisation is the driver of change in everything we do. The DSS offers life-long learning in relation to the knowledge and skills needed to work in the digital society, to do business and to play a leading role.”

Apply now

Do you want to design the future? Apply now for the Digital Society School’s Spring Traineeship Programme!

This isn’t your typical internship: it is hands-on learning at its best, involving practice-based work with a touch of research. Trainees will work in multidisciplinary teams guided by experts from the industry and the AUAS, learning from designers, programmers, social/digital media experts, researchers, copywriters and storytellers. The team will develop a working prototype for a pressing social challenge, in collaboration with a client.

The DSS is open to everyone, with particular attention to motivated local and international students, as well as professionals seeking to advance their career.

The Spring Programme runs from February- June 2019. The deadline to apply is 10 December 2018.
